MOUNT ALBERT'S MARGIN.
Better combination, especially in their backs, enabled Mount Albeit to defeat City by 22 points to 15 after a hard and eventful game, in which the respective forward divisions had most of the play. Reinforced by Donald, formerly of Shore, in their forwards, the City pack put up a fine showing, with Johnson and Spiro in everythin-' that was going, but their backs could do little when their turn came to take a hand The weakness, as in the opening match' was in the five-eighth line, although there at times Rata showed individual brilliance and a try he got in a corkscrew run. which left the Mount Albert backs stranded was the gem of the game. Tawhai, in the threequarter line, showed dash in attack, while at full-back Wiberg was as dependable as ever.
The Mount Albert backs held together well in attack, with the result that their speedy wings, McCalluin and Stewart were given good opportunities to show their pace Satherley was an absentee from the pack when Shadbolt, Herring, Gunning and Leatherbarrow stood out, the latter being very conspicuous in the loose play
