BOY'S HEAD INJURED.
RAN INTO PASSING CAR. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. When a little boy who was running along the footpath in Upper Bank Street, at 3.15 yesterday afternoon, suddenly darted across the road he was struck by the side of a taxi driven by David Roderick Grant. Fortunately the child, Stanley Andrewes, the five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Andrewes, of Walton Street, was thrown clear, but he suffered a scalp wound, abrasions and shock. He was attended by Dr. J. G. Campbell and later taken to hospital. This morning his condition was reported to be fairly satisfactory.
