RESIGNATION THREAT.
MEMBER OF POWER BOARD. STAFF AFFAIRS INVESTIGATION. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, this day. At the conclusion of the North Auckland Power Board meeting late yesterday afternoon a motion that all reports ari*inf: out of the recent investigations into staff affairs should be handed to the Press was ruled out of order by the chairman. Mr. J. A. McLean, the reason given being that the committee's reports and recommendation had been considered in committee.
Mr. Rodney Coatea, the chairman of the investigation committee, intimated that he was prepared to resign his seat on the board and recontest it at an election.
Mr. Coates later handed his copy of the-report to the Press, stating that in view of representations made to him by members he had agreed to withhold his resignation until the next meeting of the board. By unanimous vote the board decided not to begin the building of permanent head offices for twelve months.
