The member* of the New Zealand cricket team practised intensively again this afternoon,' in preparation for their first game against Surrey to r morrow. which partly through the exceptionally cordial reception given to the team by nearly all newspapers is creating much interest.

Sussex: First innings, 262 (J. Parks 144 not out); second, five for 283, declared (Cook 98). Cambridge: First innings, 190 (Rought-Rought 92); second, 109. Sussex won bv 246 runs.

Marylebone: First innings. 247 (Edrich 97): second. 242 (Cover six for 68). Surrey: First innings, 181 (Sims six for 61); second, ISO (Sims four for 40). Marvlebone won bv 128 runs.

Barnett's century, occupying exactly an hour, was the fastest for several vears.
