DAISY CHAIN CLUB.
The Daisy Chain Club rooms were well filled yesterday afternoon when the usual weekly meeting was held, Mrs. Lord presiding. The president spoke on the aim of the club, "helping the sick and needy," and asked members to assist as much as possible by visiting the sick and swelling the funds of the good cheer box to enable the needy to be assisted through the winter. An unexpected visitor was "Friend John,"' who, after giving a few words of thanks, to members for kind wishes, sang "Silver Hair and Heart of Gold," in commemoration of Mothers' Day. He was -presented with a club badge. A competition, "naming various parts of the body," was won by Mrs. Whiteman, the consolation going to Mrs. Roberta. A card afternoon, organised by Mrs. Chalmers, was well patronised, the winners being Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Willan. Members also indulged in dancing, and a Monte Carlo prize, donated by the secretary, was won by Mrs. Porteous and Mrs. Wilson. Hostesses for the day were Mesdames Hogg, jun., Gough, Parson and Bow&ter.
