VICTORIA LEAGUE.
EVER READY COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Victoria League Ever Ready Cdmmittee was presided over by Mrs. J. B. Macfarlane. The secretary reported that the jumble sale was a great success and the chairman thanked the helpers. The secretary reported that at. Poppy Day collection the JjJver Ready Committee and the -girls' committee collected £106. It waas decided to pay for a Maori scholar at Queen Victoria School for this year. All arrangements were made for the Coronation bridge party to be held on May 13, the funds to be donated to the King George Memorial fund.
After the meeting a morning tea was held to welcome the new sub-commit-tee (many of whom have been foundation members of the girls' committee) and the many helpers at the jumble sale. A delightful programme was arranged by Mrs. Humfrey Gordon, consisting of songs by Mrs. Harold Owers, pianoforte solos by Mrs. Reg. Reed, and sketches by Miss Doreen Saunders.
