MUSIC LOVERS' CLUB.

AN ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME,

Members and guests attended the rooms of the Overseas League on Thursday evening, when the second programme of the season by the Music Lovers' Club was presented. The majority of the contributions were from the works of past and present British composers, and brief reference to these was made before each performance by the president, Mr. Walter Impett.

The following programme was rendered: —Pianoforte solos, "Valses in A Plat and B Minor" (Chopin) and "The I Lake" (Bennett), Miss Shortland; air, "Where'er You Walk," from i "Semele" (Handel), song, "Thy Deep! Blue Eyes" (Lassen), Mr. Fred Bleu-. karn; two old - English songs, "Where the Bee Sucks" and "Have You Seen but a White Lily Grow" (arranged A.L.), Miss Lorna Johnson; "At the Mid Hour of Night - ' (Cowen) and "Innis Farrell" (Aitken). Mr. Edgar M. Bishop; three songs of the sea, "The Sea Bird." "Moonlight" and "By the Sea" (Roger Quilter), Mr. Alfred Porter; "What Comes V and "Beautiful Beatrice" (Mallinson), Miss Eileen Yeoman; '"Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal" and "Over the Mountains" (Roger Quilter), Mr. Stanley Moorcroft; "All on a Summer's Day" (Gordon McBeth) ami "The Bell" (Teresa del Kiego), sung by Mrs. Norman Dimery, with violin obligato by Mr. Norman Dimery; vocal quartets. "Brightly Dawns Our Wedding Day" (Sullivan i and "Evening Pastorale" (Wilfred Shaw), Mesdames B. Neal and H. Kersey and Messrs. S. Duncan and J. Bond. The accompanists were Miss Ella Postles and Mr. Walter Impett.
