Prepare for some glittering ensembles on the fair form of Marlene Dietrich in her next film. One of the most striking in a black velvet coat-dress, toe length, high in the neck, wide bunchy sleeves, with wide cuffs of sequins covered with a widely nieslied black veil intended to glamorise the Dietrich features.

Joan Crawford s newest gown is a jacket frock of navy floral print, featuring a short bolero. The blouse of navy tucked chiffon has an extremely high waist. The accompanying hat is of natural chip straw with shallow crown and medium brim, trimmed with a band of navy grosgrain ribbon and a bunch of field flowers caught at the front. Ribbon forms streamers at the back. The accessories are of beige.

Jeanette MaeDonald was an Esster eyeful in a one.-pieee silk print, white background covered with pink cherry blossoms. The dress featured a full skirt and a semi-fitted bodice. The belt was of matching pink suede. A large picture hat of Leghorn straw, trimmed at the front by a spray of cherry blossoms, crowned her red locks. Her sandals and accessories were white.

Maureen O'Sullivan's favourite suit is of white gabardine with matching top coat. With this she wears a white lingerie blouse ami carries natural chamois accesories to match the colour of her hat. The latter is trimmed by a single band of chamois. A chamois flower tucks into the lapel buttonhole of her suit.

Virginia Bruce was seen lunching with David Niven in an outfit of navy, sheer fashioned, with accordion-pleated skirt and hip-length bodice. The slender dress had a bolero of navy lace. The hat, of navy straw, had a semi-wide briin and shallow crown. Beige accessories completed the outfit.

The open season for blouses is upon us. And you cannot go far wrong in emulating a particularly gay and colourful model worn by Janice Jarrett (the future Mrs. Melvin Purvis), beautiful ex-Universal featured player. It is made of-heavy bright yellow crepe with gathered neck, providing the front with casual fullness. Buttoned down the front, the round buttons repeat the colours of the Dalmatian embroidery which decorates the collar and cuffs.

Josephine Hutchinson's slim black wool coat is strictly early summer. 1937. with its -lash down the back from waist to hem. Below the slash peeps a soft spring print, with skirt gathered in the peasant manner.

Anita Louise's grey wool coat shows the same slash tendencies. Hers, however. is made with a very full skirt, which falls away from the back centre.

Week-ending in Catalina Jane Wvman introduced something new in the bathing suit line. Her satin suit was printed with a gay surrealistic design of boats, beach balls and sailor caps. Her accompanying long beach coat, although of a heavy cotton material, had the same black background 6et off with the same figures.

Madge Evans is still wearing her Easter parade suit of beige herringbone. The skirt is fitted. The jacket, doublebreasted. with medium-width, high lapels. Tile blouse and accessories, plus a tile flower in the buttonhole of the jacket, complete the ensemble. The Easter bonnet, of shiny straw with wide saucer brim, has a shallow crown and grosgrain streamers.

Una Merkel prefers her white redingote over a floral print with white background. To go with it is a large picture hat of bleached straw, trimmed with a simple ribbon band. Also white sandals, gloves and bag. The floral print is in shades of blue, maize and rose.

Bi'ttv Furness' latest wardrobe purchase is a bole - o suit of gold won] with ideated blouse of Coronation blue. With this she wears jewellery of straw and bright wooden beads, with a handbag to match. Her accessories, with the exception of the hat. repeat the blue shade. The hat is of natural chip etraw.
