MAN CAUGHT IN HOUSE.
ASKED FOR A CUP OF TEA. When a telephone call was received by Mr. A. Leese, of 22, Owen's Road, Epsom, shortly before midnight on Tuesday "night he went to a house in the same road and there identified a purse marked with his wife's name, which had been found on a man accused of burglary and held by the occupier of the house. •Mr. Leeee, who is town clerk of One i Tree Hill, and a Justice of the Peace, J wishes to explain that the only thing to be done In the circumstances was to! J summon the police. He savi that within I : ten minutes of his arrival at the house ' the police were called by telephone. A j constable subsequently arrived, and ' placed the man under arrest. Mr. Leese adds that his visit to the house was a brief one, that he took no part in any lengthy conference, and that a cup of tea was given to the suspected burglar , only l>ecause the man particularly asked j that he should be given one as he was j not feeling welL
