AMALGAMATION.
DOMINION LABOUR BODIES.
ALL-IN CONGRESS PROPOSED. I (By Telegrnpli.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Approached in connection with a conference held lietween the two bodies, the secretary of the Alliance of Labour, Mr. A. Croskery, and the secretary of the Xe w Zealand Trades and Labour Councils' Federation, Mr. Cornwell, said that representatives of these two national organisations had been some weeks drafting a constitution which it was considered would meet with the approval of the trade union movement, and the matter was finalised yesterday.
Copies of the findings are to l»e forwarded to the various councils of both organisations with a request to cooperate in holding meetings of every trade union to bring before them the findings and to ask them to secure the opinion of delegates to such meetings as to whether they are of the opinion that an all-in trade union congress should be called or whether they favour representatives from each centre being sent in order to bring about amalgamation into one national organisation.
In the event of an all-in congress being called, the representation wili be on the basis of the representation of the New Zealand Labour Party conference.
