WARDERS' ESTEEM.
MR. F. K. HUNT HONOURED.
Further evidence of the esteem in which Mr. F. K. Hunt was held as a magistrate has been shown 'bv a presentation made him by the warders at the gaol. On behalf of the warders. Mr. \V. T. Ix-ggett, superintendent at the prison, made the presentation, which took the form of an attache case of solid leather, and a file wallet, also of leather. Mr. Hunt was visiting magistrate at the gaol for many years, and he is now visiting justice. He had Ik>ch at tlie gaol in the course of business when the warders asked him to stay for a little while. Mr. Huht consented and the presentation followed. Mr. Leggett said that his staff appreciated the happy relations which had existed between them and Mr. Hunt over a long period; and they further appreciated the fairness with which Mr. Hunt had judged cases as between warders and prisoners. Replying, Mr. Hunt said be thought the presentation must be rather unique. He, in his turn, had appreciated his association with the staff.
