BRIDGE AFTERNOON.
FUNDS FOR PLUNKET ROOM. In order to raise funds to provide a Plunket room in their district, the president, executive and committee of the Birkenhead Branch of the Plunket Society, held a successful contract and auction bridge party at the Farmers' on Wednesday. The president, Mrs. N. J. Campbell, welcomed the guests, and said that she would like to take this opportunity of thanking all those friendß, who, although unable to be present, sent donations towards the funds of the society. Prizes were presented by Mrs. Archie Campbell, president Xorthcote Plunket committee. Prizewinners were Mesdames E. Svenson, C. Bloomfield, J. L. Xettleton and Peace, sen.
