Although the work on the flat wae of no interest, jumper* enlivened the proceedings at Riccarton this morning. The work of refurnishing the brush fence* on the steeplechase wchooling circuit is well under way. The two tencot of the double have been completed, and they were used thiri morning for the first time. The other fence in the straight it) now receiving attention, and will be out of action for a few days.

The Graeper wae sent over the brush and open hurdles, giving a very good exhibition of fust jumping. Monastic wae schooled twice over two brush hurdles. After his racing in eteeplechaeee he was inclined to jump big when he started hie schoolfng over the smaller obstacles, but he hue improved in tin* respect. Sky Pilot went twice round the steeplechase track, giving a very good dieplay over eight fences. Chaste was started on her jumping education with some practice over the pony hurdle*. After refusing twice she settled down to her task, clearing the obstacles quite satisfactorily. Chaste is a seven-year-old mare by Cape Horn, and did her earrjfc racing for the Xorth Inland owner-trainer B. Burgees. She was purchased recently by Mr. H. D. Leaman, of North Canterbury, and has joined M. Conza'e team.
