BOWLER'S BATTING SUCCESS.
BRADMAN GOES CHEAPLY
SYDNEY, February 20.
In a Sheffield Shield match at Sydney yesterday New South Wales made 355 in the first innings, Oldfield 63, White (the young left-hand slow bowler) not out 108. Ward took four wickets for 89 and Grimmett three for 77. South Australia lost eight wickets for 208 in the first innings (Bradman 24, Hamence 27, Badcock, not out 93). While and Oldfield added 164 in a ninthwicket partnership for New South Wales. South Australia lost four wickets for 94 and then a bright partnership between Badcock and Hamence carried the total to 173.
