HOSPITAL STATISTICS.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, Monday. Interesting statistics relating to the institution were presented to the Whangarei Hospital Board by Dr. J. W. Hall, medical superintendent, in his annual report to-day. Last year's figures, with those for 1935 in parentheses, were: — Patients admitted, 1977 (193 C); died, 74 (58); maternity annexe cases, 278 (280). The massage department had carried out 1692 treatments or a total of 172 patients. The radiologist, Dr. D. J. Goodwin, reported that 758 persons had been X-rayed, compared with 760 in 1935. The staff had also dealt with 863 attendances at the ante-natal clinic.
