Although well-informed circles at Whitehall yesterday gave the Australian Associated Press an emphatic denial of the suggestion in the provincial Press that the • German Ambassador, Herr von Kibbentrop, was conducting propaganda against Mr. Anthony Eden, "also that ho sought to influence the appointment of the new Ambassador to Berlin, the "Xews Chronicle" political correspondent repeats the story.

This writer alleges that diplomatic disquiet has arisen in London, and that Herr von Kibbentrop is no longer persona grata with British 'Ministers, who resent his propagandist activity which are not consonant with Ambassadorial practice.

The German domestic campaign for the return of colonies, suspended on Herr von Ribbentrop's advice, has been resumed. Herr Hitler's Reichstag speech being the signal for an outburst of Press activity. "Berliner Tageblatt" has vigorously protested against laws by which South Africa proposes to prevent foreign interference with her mandated territories. It accuses the Government of having expelled GO.OOO Germans from PolttllTVest Africa, and in other-ways violating Article XXII. of the League Covenant.
