TE AROHA HORSES.

PROGRESS OF GAY ROSE. IIIPASTO TO RACK AT WAIKATO. Black Husk, who opened his winning; account at the Takapuua meeting, ran up ! to his track form on the occasion, prevail- j ing over a better field than he had met at I Parawai the previous week. After returning liomc lie Again joined up wltli Ins owner's stable at Waihou, where N. Maguire will assist with the track riding duties. I£ the black gelding continues to progress satisfactorily he will be a contestant at the Waikato meeting this month.

Gay Rose, who has been allotted serviceable work during the last few weeks, is showing improvement as regards racing condition and has been nominated for events at the Waikato meeting.

With no recent recurrence of hoof trouble, Impasto continues to work consistently over distances longer than those of sprinting only. It is probable that he will be raced over middle distances at To Rapa he should not race prominently at the meeting.

Hector Gray, of Xew Plymouth, has arranged for accommodation for a team to be brought up for the local meeting.

The recent addition to H. Eva's team, Miriana, is not being allotted very strenuous work, but has already improved in appearance and should be carrying her further advanced.

M. L. Lipsey has trrken a lease of Queen Lu and is putting the King Lu mare through a strong preparation in view of autumn racing. If she fails to run prominently in the near future she may be tried in the jumping department, where she might be successful, as Lipsey can be depended upon to give her a thorough schooling. This mentor is keeping Miss Musketoon well up to the mark in her track tasks and she is thriving on her work.

Since returning from the Auckland summer, meeting Golden Sheila has noticeably improved in racing condition, and when she has the racing tracks to her liking can be depended upon to race well. She is to compete at the Waikato and Te Aroha

The Hunting Song gelding in charge of the veteran trainer W. Woods is coming on very satisfactorily. He moves nicely on the tracks and shows evidence of being a galloper of capability. When he arrived here some months ago he was on the small side, but is developing well. An addition to Mr. R. B. Hines' stud at Te Aroha West is the Martian representative Raceful, who is carrying her age especially well and is very robust-looking. Tin Lap is now fining down appreciably, and by the end of the present month should be racing in improved style. The Paladin gelding Fci-Mah is still running out in the paddock, and it is questionable whether lie will be able to return to the training tracks for a considerable time. His pastern is still swollen, but any sign of lameness has now disappeared.
