I , Hot house grapes have increased in •supply, and it was almost impossible to quit supplies of this fruit, the demand being very weak. Ripe Bon Chretien pears were in strong request, but apples sold slowly. Bidding for peaches showed little life, but plums of good quality sold well. The demand for oranges was only fair. Bananas: Ripe, 15/ to 28/3 per case. Pines: Queensland, 16/ to 21/ per case. Grapes: Hothouse, Hamburg 6d to 1/2 per lb. Peaches: Paragon, cases 3/ to 3/6, crates 5/ to 6/6; others, 3/ to 3/6. Plums: Burbank, 3/6 to 4/6 per case; Satsuma, 4/ to 5/6; Purple King, 5/ to 7/6; Doris, 5/ to 7/; greengage, 8/ to 8/6; others, 3/ to 4/6. Nectarines: Choice, 6/ to 8/ per case; others, 3/ to 5/. Apricots: Otago, 5/ to 8/ per case. Strawberries: Captain Cook, 1/6 to 1/8 per cjiip. Raspberries: 9/ to 9/6 per tin. Most Vegetables Cheaper. Heavy supplies of cabbage were available to-day, and prices were much lower than last week. Green peas, beans and cauliflower were also cheaper. Large quantities of lettuce were auctioned, the demand being fair for good quality lines, with others hard to quit. The market was glutted with marrows and rhubarb. Increased quantities of new season's and pumpkins were available at slightly lower rates. A few Ohakune potatoes were available to-day, and it is expected that supplies will continue from now on until the end of the season. Quotations: — Beet. 6(i to lOd per dozen; celery, cooking 1/6 per bundle, dessert 2/ to 2/9; carrots, 1/ to 2/2 per dozen; cauliflowers, 4/6 to 6/6 per sack; cabbages, 2/ to 5/ per sack, on benches 1/ to 2/ per dozen; cucumbers, 9d to 2/6 per dozen; French beans, 1/6 to 2/ per bag: stringless beans, 3/ to 4/6: green peas. 3/ to 8/; kumaras, Island 16/ per cwt; lettuce, 1/ to 4/ per case: marrows, 6d to 1/ per dozen; onions, 3/6 to 4/6 per bag: potatoes, No. 1 3/ to per bag; pumpkins, best Red Warren 8/ to 11/ per cwt; parsnips, 1/ to 1/4 per dozen; radish. 9d to 1/ per dozen; rhubarb. 1/ to 2/6 per dozen: spinach, 1/ to 1/6 per dozen; spring onions. 6d to 1/2 per bundle; swedes, 2/ to 3/6 per bag; turnips, 6d per dozen. Drakes: Old 9d to 1/6. Butter and Eggs. Egg prices remained unaltered as follows: —Hen: First grade 1/10%. B grade 1/8%, C grade 1/0%. Duck: First grade , 1/8%. B grade 1/7%. C grade 1/0%.
