EUROPEAN EXPECTATION. (Received 12 noon.) LONDON", February 3. "We now expect a period of diplomatic quiet," was a statement made today to the Australian Associated Press, in an authoritative quarter. This phrase is echoed in Berlin and Paris. Madame "Taliou'l3," "L'Oeuvre" Paris. Madame Tabouis, "L-Oeuvre" considers a diplomatic pause has begtin, and there will be no further talk. Dr. Schacht is visiting Paris on commercial negotiations. In Germany, "The Times" Berlin correspondent says that the Wilhelinstrasse also expects a lull, and disclaims any projected approach to Britain or France on colonial question*. A German reply is not expected to Britain's Xotc regarding a Western pact.
