A QUIET MORNING.

LUCKY LOVE GOES WELL

There was not a great deal doing in the way of fast work at Epsom this morning, and candidates for the approaching Auckland**meeting were mostly let off with light taske. The dirt .track was in use and provided excellent footing. Gold Pointer ran the laet mile of a mile and a quarter in 2.19, sprinting the last half-mile nicely in 1.7. This novice ie showing improvement, but is still inclined tohitch when going at top. Dick Redmond and Dainty Lady were associated over two miles, the latter finishing a length in front in 4.59 3-3. the last half-mile occupying 1.10 2-5. Dick Redmond, who received a good start, ran 5.4. Both are shaping up well. Lucky Love was responsible for the best effort of the morning, when he completed a mile and a half in 3.25 3-5. the final four furlongs in 1.4 3-5. He was not asked for his beet over the first mile, but came home particularly well. Munga Tangi was not after time, and took 3.40 3-5 for a mile and a half. He increased the pace a little to run the last half-mile in 1;9 3<5. This pacer ie in excellent order. Fisher, who is still a trifle burly, traversed a mile and a half in 3.40 3-5. after running the first mile in 2.30. He showed plenty of speed in the middle stages. Real Red trotted without mietake while compassing two miles in 5.13. and the last haK-mile in 1.14 3-5. while Mountain Sun took 1.10 for the laet half-mile of a siinilar task. Amafhas and Torpedo Kiag jumped away on terms from the coito posV and keeping together practically all the way, Torpedo Kins von nicely in 2.27, the laet half-mile in 1.11 3-5. She did not make a mistake and worked satisfactorily. Handicapper, who is an addition to A. Bryce's stable, was not strapped up, but put plenty of vim into several rounds lat a useful pace.
