RECORDING EARTHQUAKES.—At the Air Ministry Meteorological Office, Kew Observatory, Loacfea, experts, with the assistance of the observatory at Bombay, were able to locate on January 7 a great earthquake in a sparsely-populated area in Eastern Tibet, 600 miles north-east of Lhasa. The illustration shows Dr. Lee with the three Galibdn seismographs at Kew Observatory, where he recorded the Tibet 'quake.
