"ROYAL'S" HARBOUR RACES.

GOVERNOR-GEMERAI/S CUP. WIN FOR MOANA. The Royal New Zealand Tacht Squadron held four race's on Saturday, starting and finishing off the King's wharf. The first division competed for the GovernorGeneral's Cup, which was won by Dr. Burns' Moana, sailed by Mr. A. S. Millet, with Mr. W. P. Endean'B Prize second and Mr. H. J. C. George's Victory third. The second, division competed for the Johnson Cup, which was won by Mr. C. R. McCullougJis Tawhiri, with Mr. E. J. Mitcheleon's Little Jim second and Mr. X. C. Main's Waioino third. The third division raced for Mr. H. J. George's trophy, which was won by Mr. M. K. Draffln's Kotnku, with Mr. B. S. Woollacott's Rambler second and Messrs. Wilson. Clarke and Upton's Mahaki third. The M class of 18-footers raced for the Drysdale Cup. with junior crews, the winner being Manene (Colin Dennes). with Maroro (N. Thome) second and Mawhlti (R. Thorpe) third. GOVERXOR-GEXERAL"S CUP. This race started at 2.30 p.m. over a course from the King's wharf, round red buoy off Motuihl and back to starting line. This gave a run down and a dead alog back. Tawera and Xga Toa were too keen and crossed the line a few seconds before gunfire. They returned, but did not come back quite to the line before turning to continue the race. Prize was fast away after gunfire, followed closely by Victory. Ariki and Moana. All set spinnakers to starboard, and ,Victory took the lead at first, but Moana passed her in the channel and rounded the lee mark ahead, followed by Ariki. Tawera. Xga Toa and Prize. On the beat back all except Victory stood toward Brown's Island, the latter working the Rangitoto shore. Ariki now took the lead and off Bean Rock the order was: Ariki. Tawera, Xga Toa. Moann. Vos. was first away in the race for the cup presented by Messrs. H. B. and R. J. Johnson. Altair. Little Jim. Tawhiri. Walomo and Kotiri followin™ in thin order. Kotiri being 3m late When spinnakers were set for the run to Motuihl buoy Little Jim took the lead and kept It throughout, followfd by Waiomo. The finish was: Little Jim (scr) 5h Dm 38s. Waiomo (2m) T>h 3in 50s. Tawhiri (sm) 5h 5m 15s. Kotiri (7m 30s) 5h 21m 4r>s. Altair (9m) 5h 24m 325. Tangaroa (8m) retired. Result : Tawbiri 1. Little Jim 2, Walomo 3. VICE-COMMODORE'S TROPHY. In the race for the third division for Mr. H. J. C. George's tronhy Kotnku w.is first away, followed by Rambler. Janet and Mahaki in close order. On the run to Motuiht buoy Rambler went out ahead and stayed there on the beat back to King's wharf. The finish was: Rambler (scr) 4h r.6m ISs. Kotuku (10ni> -In f.ni I.'s. Mahaki dim) 5h 14m 5Ss. The race for the Drysdale Cun for junior crews in the M class saw Mam ne first away, followed by Maroro. with Mawhiii and Manaia 3m late. Manene. well handler, by Colin Dennes. worked out a bis lead, find the finish was: Manene (ser) 4h 34n. 2s. Maroro (ser) 4h 3!) m 555. Mnwhiti (scr) 4h 45m Bs. Result : Manene 1. Maroro 2. Mawhiti 3.
