GIANT BUTTERCPS.
FINE DISPIiAY AT MUSEUM.
At the Auckland War Memorial Museum, on the native plant table, there are included in the display beautiful specimens of the giant white buttercup, the largest buttercup in the world. Also included is the large white mountain daisy. The white buttercup is often incorrectly called the Mount Cook lily. It measures five inches across and is pure white with a golden centre. The specimens were eent to the museum bv Mr. Dentford Elliot from the Westland jrlaciers. Also in the display is featured the southern brilliant red rata, which has bloomed wonderfully this season.
