DOMINION BANDS.
CONTESTS NEXT MONTH. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NELSON, this day. Twenty bands will tak P part in the New Zealand brass bands' contest in Nelson, commencing on February 15. Owing to the uncertainty regarding the infantile paralysis epidemic restrictions, the Minister of Health was asked for his opinion as to whether the contest should be held. Tho Minister ha* replied: "After consultation with the Director-General of Health I am of tin: opinion that the worst restriction likely to be imposed is that children under sixteen may not be permitted to attend, but if the present course of the epidemic fe maintained there is a possibility that all restrictions, may be removed by the date of the contest."
In view of the reply the committee has completed its arrangements for the contest.
