APPLES IN DEMAND. OUTDOOR TOMATOES CHEAPER.* BANANAS AT HIGH RATES. Good dessert apples were in fair demand to-day, but pears are still iselliug slowly. Very large quantities of outdoor tomatoes are now coming forward, values varying according to grade. Plums and peadies were in fair demand. There are a large quantity of mushrooms arriving on the market and these are very hard to quit. Good quality lemons are in demand and oranges remain as usual. There is rather a slow sale for hothouse grapes. Values for Otago apricots were higher to-day, as they were in short supply. Strawberries will very soon be finished. Ripe bananas are in short supply, but fresh supplies are expected by the Mahia on Monday.
