WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the " Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south aa Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:— Moderate to strong north-easterly winds, rising to gale force in many places, with the weather becoming dull and misty, and rain gradually develops . ing, with heavy falls in many places. Seas, becoming rough on the west i coast and slight to moderate, but I rising, on the east coast. j An anti-cyclone is now centred east of the North Island. A tropical cyclone of moderate intensity, moving from the north, is apparently approaching Nor- ! folk Island. A depression is advancing ■' also across the Tasman Sea. I FOR THE DOMINION. • j For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate to strong north-easterly winds, freshening to gale. Weather, cloudy to overcast, later dull, with much mist and fog in parts. Rain probable, with some heavy falls. Barometer has a falling tendency. Seas, moderate to rather rough, and increasing. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, north-north-east, fresh; sea, moderate; weather, cloudy and hazy; visibility, fair; barometer, stead;.
