FRESH SUSPECT.
CHILD PARALYSIS.
YOUNG MAN FROM COUNTRY.
KEPT UNDER OBSERVATION.
A fresh development in the infantile paralysis situation in Auckland was the admission to the Auckland Hospital late last night of a new suspected case. The patient, a young man, is being kept under observation.
The new suspect is believed to be between 23 and 24 years of age, and he was brought in from a country district some distance from Auckland. It is too early yet to state whether or not he is a positive case. His condition is satisfactory.
The young man, also aged about 24, who was admitted ou Thursday night as a suspect, was reported yesterday, as appeared in the first edition of the "Star," to have been found to be a mild positive case. A later report, however, was to the effect that his case was still doubtful. The position remains the same to-day, and up till early this afternoon no definite diagnosis could be announced. The man is being kept under the closest observe lion and is beiii}r treated in the meantime as a positive case. His condition is not serious. The only positive case here, that of a small girl, continues to show improvement in her condition.
