SOLICITORS' CHARGES. MORTf;AGE LEGISLATION*. (By Telegraph.— I'res3 Association.) W ELLIN (J TON", Friday. The fees that any solicitor may charge and be allowed against a client who is a mortgagor or lessee or guarantor within the meaning of the Mortgagors and Lessees Rehabilitation Act, 1930, regarding proceedings under that Act are fixed by regulations issued to-night. For work apart from appearances, such as preparing, filing and searching, the fees rartge from £2 12/U to £10 10/, according to the value of the mortgages involved. For appearances before the Court of Review or adjustment commissions fees vary from £2 2/ for the first four l:ourp. plus a guinea for each additional hour, to £7 7/, plus £1 11/U an hour. Disbursements may be added in all cases.
Where an agent is employed, liis charges shall be allowed in addition to the solicitor's charges, and if a solicitor has to travel appearance fees shall be increased by r>o per cent. In exceptional cases the Court of Review may increase the scale of charges.
