GOODS SHED THEFT.
MAORI ADMITS CHARGE. COMMITTED FOR SEXTEXCE. (By Telegraph.—oA Corresjtyndent.) KAIKOHE. this day. An excuse that when under the influence of liquor he had a desire to steal wAs offered by Hamiora Wihongi, a Maori labourer, in the Kaikohe Police Court to-day, he was charged with breaking and entering the Kaikohe railway goods shed and stealing goods valued at £7 10/. Lindsay Andrew Cooke, stationmaster, said he had securely locked the shed. Next morning he found the door wide open. A hag of clothing and a parcel were missing. Constable H. H. M;Xutt gave evidence that the parcel was found in an adjacent goods shed. The hag of clothing was found in a shed at the accuseds house. The accused pleaded guihv and was committed to the .Supreme Court for sentence.
