The following cable, dated December 31, 1980, has been received by the Bank of Australasia from its London office:— ■ "Frozen # Lambs.—During the week before Christmas demand good for the time of the year, with Australia and New Zealand arrivals increasing; however, market somewhat weaker and position worse as stocks accumulating, there being no demand during the Christmas period. Frozen mutton: In fair demand for moderate stocks; market continues firm. Frozen beef: Owing to limited supplies prices have advanced slightly." BUTTER ADVANCES. NEW ZEALAND 4/ HIGHER. Butter prices in London have advanced with sternly quotations at the improved levels, New Zealand being 3/ to 4/ better than at the beginning of the week. Latest cabled quotations:—Danish 104/, choicest salted New Zealand, 97/ to 98/; Australian, 97/; unsalted New Zealand, 99/; Australian, 98/.
