POLICE TRIBUTES.
MR. F. K. HUNT'S WORK. PRESENTATIONS MADE. At a large gathering of members of the Police Forcc in Auckland at the central station yesterday afternoon a presentation was made to Mr. F. K. Hunt, who recently retired from his position on the magisterial Benca. Feeling reference was made regarding Mr. Hunt. While speakers expressed regret at his retirement, they also expressed pleasure at the fact that he would still be associated with the" force as coroner. The speakers were Superintendent S. Till, Inspector R. Ward, Sub-Inspector J. Fox, Chief Detective S. H. Hall, Senior Sergeant Flanagan and other officers and men, and Mr. Till presented Mr. Hunt with a set of fountain pens and pencils from the detective branch, and two easy Chairs for Mr. and Mrs. Hunt from the uniform branch. In returning thanks, Mr. Hunt said lie was sorry he was leaving his position on the magisterial Bench, but pleased l>ecause he was leaving with the goodwill of members of the local force, a'ljong whom he had made manv friends. "Riches and honours i-ome to many, but not always such good words as I have heard from you about nivself this afternoon," he said.
