HO OASES XX WORTH AUCKLAND By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. "Persistent rumours continue to circulate that infantile paralysis has broken out in North Auckland," said Dr. F. T. Dawson, acting; medical superintendent at the Whangarei district hospital, who to-day asked the Press to issue a denial to such reports. "During .the last, day or two I have received a number of rings on the telephone from people who have gone so far as to give the name of the patient who itf supposed to ' be afflicted," he said. "There are no cases either suspectcd or otherwise in the Whangarei district."
