The leading positions in the Auckland poultrykeepers' egg-laying contest at the end of the thirty-eighth week are:— Single Birds (all breeds, 40 entries). — Argyle Poultry Farm's White Leghorn, 219. Heavy Breeds, teams of four birds. — J. Nixon's Black Orpington's (40 entries), 861; Mr. A. Wood's Black Langehans (two entries), 575; Mrs. B. Hickman's Rhode Island Reds (three entries), 632. Light Breeds, teams of four birds.— Mrs. M. L. Douglas* White Leghorns (52 entries), 756; Mr. W. Sellars' Minorcas (only entry), 671. Duck Section.—Mr. W. T. Gilmour's Khaki Campbells (eight teams), 1030; Mr. A. W. Tittar's Fawn Indian Runners (only entry >, 597; Mr. J. Nixon's Fawn and White (two entries), 825; Mr. R. Goodsell's White Campbells (only entry), 1004.
