PROGRESS CLUB.

A record meeting of the Women s Progress Club met at the Higher Thought Centre for the last club meeting of the year. Every guest _ received a "posy of flowers from the vice-presi-dent, Airs. Pearce. Community singing of Christmas carols and hymns was much enjoyed, and the following artists contributed items: Airs. AlcGregor and Airs. Osborne (duets), Airs. Salisbury Sykes (songs), Airs. Probert (piano accordion solos), .Mrs. Rutledge (solos). A humorous Scottish monologue was given by Airs. Howie. A large Christmas cake was distributed, the candles being lit by the officers of the club.

The Temple Orchestra played several appropriate selections. Several of the ladies were presented with shoulder sprays and bouquets for services rendered throughout the year, and the president's grandchild, Master Eldred Dickens, 31, presented the vice-presi-dent with a beautiful spray of roses;
