WILLIAMSON COMPANY.
GILBERT AND SULLIVAN. Following a nhenomenallv successful return season in Sydney and Melbourne of the J. C. Williamson Gilbert-and Sullivan Opera Company, the management has now decided to send the company for a brief farewell tour of New Zealand. The imported members of the company will then return to England, and it will probably be some years before playgoers will have an opportunity to enjoy the works of the famous collaborators again. Since it last appeared here the ranks of the Gilbert and Sullivan company have been considerably strengthened, particularly by the inclusion of a brilliant artist, Miss Strella Wilson, who will sing the leading soprano roles. In addition to the operas which were staged here twelve months ago the lepertoire of the Auckland season will include the comic operas, "Paul Jones" and "Lilac Time," and "Ruddigore" and "Princess Ida." Other operas to be presented are "The Gondoliers." "The Mikado," "lolanthe," "The Yeomen of the Guard" and "The Pirates of Penzance."
