DRIVING SCHOOLS.

MOTOR UNION APPROVES. (By Telegr.if.il.—Press Association.! INVERCARGILL, Friday. The inauguration of driving schools for those who wish to drive motpr cars was advocated in a remit from Otago and discussed at the quarterly meeting of the Soutli Island Motor Union at Queenstown to-night, and it was decided that each association should give material assistance in forming such schools. Mr. J. S. Hawkes ( Canterbury-) said the Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Semple, intended to introduce legislation which would mean that aspiring drivers would be tested by Government officers.
