NONE ACCEPTED.
TRAM CONCESSIONS.
CASH FARES TO-DAY
NEW SYSTEM OPERATIVE.
No concession cards were accepted on the Auckland trannyay sysetem to-day, yesterday being the final date for the use of them. Notwithstanding the prohibition, a number of passengers presented their cards in the usual way, but were politely informed by the conductors that they would have to tender cash fares and collect the cash equivalent of their concession tickets at the head office of the Auckland Transport Board.
Mr. A. E. Ford, general manager of the board, said this morning that most of the tickets had previously been worked out by tlie end of November. There were a few tickets in circulation which, when issued, gave the expiry date as January 31. In those cases new tickets would be issued, which would give the full number of rides that the concession card represented when sold, but in the case of other cards that had still s<fnie rides left the equivalent, either in cash or in rides on sjsecial tickets, would be given when presented at the board's ofiiee. Any fractions would be reckoned, in favour of the ticket holders.
Mr. Ford said that the 10 rides travel tickets available on the day of issue only were still available. This was the only concession ticket retained.
