THREE NOTED RIDERS. Entries for the N.Z.T.X. at Wailieke have been coming in freely during the last few days, and everything points to a fast and willing race. The Ostend Road Board has taken a great deal of trouble preparing the course, and this year, with Goldberg, Mattson and Sowerby as competitors, should see all past records broken. The following are the entries to date:—L. Dixon (Levis), V. Melhuish (J.A.P.), L. Sowerby (Levis), J. Dale (Rudge), Arthur (Norton), D. McDonagh (Excelsior, J.A.P.), M. Jones (Norton), L. Moore (Velo), D. Hallam (Rudge), W. Grey (Norton), L. Perry (Excelsior, J.A.P.), L. Albrecht (Excelsior 350), C. Buchanan (Velo), H. Fitzgerald (Vincent, H.R.D.), A. Mattson (Velo), C. Goldberg (Rudge), 0. Cox (J. A.P.), A. Dean (Norton).
Members and friends will assemble at the clubrooms to-morrow evening to welcome home Charlie Goldberg, who put up such a wonderful performance in the 1.0.M.T.T.
TIGHT FAN BELTS. A strong piece of rag can be of great help when fitting a new fan belt where the adjustment is not sufficient to allow the belt to pass over the pulley of the water impeller. Fold the rag tightly
round the fan belt just in line with the pulley, pulling outwards and towards the pulley, while the engine is being slowly turned. Do not use a screwdriver for this job or you will probably damage your knuckles on the radiator honeycomb. The rag method is safer and will not damage the flange of the pulley.
