DONATIONS FOR LEPERS.
good response to appeal.
A good response has been made by the public of Auckland to the annual appeal of Mr. D'Arcy Thomas, 14, Domain Road, Mount Albert, for Christmas gifts for the lepers on Makogai Island. A large number of cases of foodstuffs, clothing, books and articles are sent every year by Mr. Thomas, who aimed this year at a record total of 100 eases. Mr. Thomas said this morning that number had already been exceeded, and he wished to convey to all helpers his apprecaition of the magnificent response.
