PRESENTATION.
PONSONBY CHURCH FAREWEM,
The Rev. H. Squires, of All Saints' Church, Ponsonby, and Mrs. Squires, were farewelled on the eve of their departure for St. Columba, Grey Lynn, by parishioners of All Saints' after the evening service on Sunday. Mr. Squires, who has been assistant curate at All Saints' for the last two years, was presented with a standard lamp and a brass wood-box as mementos of his and Mrs. Squires' association with the parish. The vicar, the Rev. W. W. Averill, who presided, spoke of their co-operation, and very active interest in the young people of the parish. Mr. A. E. Wetherilt, people's warden, and the Rev. F. J. Handy, of St. John's Methodist Church, also spoke. Opportunity was also taken to welcome the Rev. J. B. Rushworth, who was ordained on Sunday, and who will be assistant curate, in succession to Mr. Squires.
