GOVERNMENT GRANTS
TO MARK KING'S CORONATION
ANNOUNCEMENT SHORTLY,
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Monday.
Interviewed to-day, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, said the question of the Government making grants to districts for the erection of halls and providing other amenities had been considered.
"Grants of the kind were made in New Zealand in 1911 for the Coronation of King George, and there is a probability of similar action being taken next year, though I am unable to give definite advice at the moment," he said.
"The question had been before the Cabinet, and the Prime Minister wili doubtless make an announcement shortly."
