FURTHER DISPUTES.
DECEMBER HEARINGS. These are busy days for the conciliation commissioner in Auckland, Mr. R. E. Price, who is presiding over numerous hearings of industrial disputes. Many unions, some new, others olderestablisl»ed, have brought forward during recent months claims for fixed or revised conditions of employment, which, opposed by the employers, have been heard iif conciliation council.
Several further disputes have yet to be heard, and the following dates have been allocated by Mr. Price up to the Christmas season:—December 2, builders and contractors' labourers; December 3, gas workers; December 4, rope and twine workers; December 7, lime workers; December 8, dental workers; December 9, grocers; December 10, tallymen; December 14, caretakers and liftmen; December 15, North Island brick and tile workers; December 16, fire brigades and concrete workers; December" 17, South Auckland butchers; December 21, manure workers; December 22, timber workers.
Eleven hearings which have been adjourned sine die are to be resumed when possible.
