At a further meeting of delegates of the j newly-formed Factory Tennis Association j it was decided that the events be Kiown ! as the Griffiths Cup competitions. Many ! factories have entered teams and a very j successful season is anticipated. Matches] are to be commenced on December and all entries must be in the hands of the secretary not later than November 24. Two delegates. Miss Haslain (Collins Eros.) and Miss Farr-11 (Dotno Braces), j were added to the committee. Mr. J. J. ; Pilkington (Empire Boz) was elected see-j retary and treasurer. Although rain seriously interfered with ] the opening round of the Franklin Dawn t Tennis Association's annual competition's j on Saturday, several clubs gained sufficient rubbers to win th*-ir matches. Other matches will be finalised nest Saturday. A Grade.—St. James' beat West End by six rubbers t.o one. three being unfinished : Karaka beat Pukekohe by six rubbers to' three, one being unfinished.
