RACEHORSE KILLED.
When schooling in company with Mowgli at New Plymouth yesterday morning, Kaola fell and broke his neck, death being instantaneous. Kaola was engaged at the Waikato meeting on Saturday. BEDFORD DESTROYED. i The veteran Morrinsville-owned racehorse Bedford, winner of the Takapuna Cup in 1915, and the Winter Cup at Riccarton in 1918, met with an accident during the week-end, and had to be destroyed. For many years Bedford, who was 25 years old, had been glazing on a farm 'at Kiwitahi. He was bred by Mr. F. J. Marshall, of Morrinsville, and did all his racing in Mr. Marshall's colours. Mr. Marshall showed his appreciation by retaining Bedford until the end, and giving him an easy life when his racing days were over.
