STAKES INCREASED.
ROTORUA RACING CLUB. (By Telegraph.—Special to" "Star.") ROTORUA., this day. The executive of the Rotorua Racing Crab has decided to increase the stakes for their February meeting by £700, making a total for the two days of £2700. There will now be no race on the programme with a stake less than £100. The Rotorua Cup, the chief event on the opening day, has been increased from £250 to £340, and the President's Handicap, the principal event on the second day, from £150 to £245. The club is also cairjing out an extensive programme of improvements to their course and grounds.
