"IN RIGHT SPIRIT."
FARMERS ACCEPT LAWS. MINISTER'S ACKNOWLEDGMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. Appreciation of the manner in which dairy farmers generally had received the new legislation affecting wages and the conditions of workers on farms was expressed by the Minister of Labour, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, to-day. The majority had accepted the provisions of the law in the right spirit, and had made no complaint at all. There was still some difference of opinion, however, in respect to holidays for dairy farm workers, the Minister added. Provision was made, of course, for granting holidays at the time most convenient to employers, either by giving a day off now and again, or by allowing the requisite number of holidays at one period. It "was largely a question of arrangement. Several farmers had suggested that the time between milkings should be considered in the computation of holidays, but it would not be reasonable to agree to that argument.
