CHAMPIONS MEET. A. SHAW AND C. CLEMENTS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The Russley professional, C. C. Clements, and A. J. Shaw, New Zealand open champion, met over 18 holes at RuSsley yesterday, this being their first meeting since the two met in the final of the professional championship at New Plymouth last month, when Clements was the winner. Shaw was in Christchurcli as a holiday visitor and did not bring his clubs, but he was fitted out by a Russley member for yesterday's game. Clements, having had no play since his return from the championship, was out of touch with his clubs in the first half, which ended with the local man three down, and With Shaw one under bogey at this stage. The second half was a much more even game, fluctuating up to the last green, where Clements holed a chip for a birdie three, to finish two down. The match was without many highlights. Both played very steadily, and at most holes bogev ficures sufficed only for a half.
