PIRATE SHIPPE.
The lure of the circus drew a big crowd to the Pirate Shippe 011 Saturday night for the circus life carnival dance. The atmosphere was excellently captured, the stage being dressed in green and white stripes to represent a big tent. Life'4jized figures illustrative of the usual acts under the "big top" were prominently displayed, including strong men, acrobats, equestrians and clowns, whilst
from the ceiling were suspended flying figures diving through paper hoops. The cubicles and pillars bore conical cut-outs of clowns, etc. These were eagerly sought for by the guests as souvenirs. Appropriate musical selections were rendered by the orchestra. Amongst the guests were: Mesdames Taylor, Scheigus, Poland, Burgess, Findlay, Harrison, Neilsen, Lawrence, Kitchingman, Haig, Hessey, Bowman, Armitage, Dorsett, Jarrett, and the Misses Dorsett, Wilson, Webster, Stevenson, Turner, Hill, Shaw (2), Feilding, Sliipway, Glasson, White, Leidsclike, Davis, Ireland, Lewis, Gimlett, Handley, Burton, Vincent and Tomlin.
