COURT IN DILEMMA.
"UNFORTUNATE" INCIDENT.
A JURYMAN DEPOSED.

PALMERSTOST IST., this (lay. A iurv in the Supremo Court to-day placed Mr. Justice Ostler and counsel twice in a dilemma. Four men «(ie empanelled to assess damages in a claim for £300. The surprises began when it wis discovered after the case had progressed for, an hour that one juryman -was in the employ of the defendants. Hastily he was deposed, and his three colleagues continued ■ without his aid. The case was one concerning a car which was seized by the vendors after it had been on the road for seven years. It was renovated and then sold into new hands. In answering a direct question by |his Honor, the jury said the value of this vehicle was nil. Silence enveloped the' Court till his Honor commented: "This is a little unfortunate." Counsel for the plaintiff intimated that he would move for a new trial. The; jurors were discharged and were directed to collect their pay for their services.
