KAWAU ISLAND OYSTERS.
TO BE SENT TO MINISTER, A decision to forward to the Minister of Marine, the Hon. P. Fraser, specimens of 3-J-year-old oysters grown on pinus insignia piles by Mr. L. G. Reeves, of Ivawau Island, was made at to-day's meeting of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. It was also decided to forward cuttings from the "Star" regard? ing the oysters and photographs. The motion was proposed by Mr. A. G. Lunn, who recalled that Mr. Reeves had sent the specimens to the chamber. In view of the statements made that it took a number of years for the cultivation of oysters, he thought the matter should be brought before the attention of the Minister. The motion was seconded by Mr. W. A. Boucher.
